It features 16-bit audiovisual enhancements to the 8-bit original in the fashion of Super Mario All-Stars, plus "SoundLink" narration (radio drama-style streaming voice data intended to guide players through the game and give helpful hints and advice) and broadcast CD-quality music. Due to the nature of SoundLink broadcasts, these games were only broadcast to players between 6:00 and 7:00 PM on broadcast dates, at which times players could download the game from the Events Plaza on the BS-X application cartridge. A single rerun of the broadcasts was conducted in the same weekly format from June 3, 1996, to June 29, 1996, at 5:00 to 6:00 PM. The BS-X download location for the rerun changed to Bagupotamia Temple.

Instead of heading over to the eShop and purchasing the new level packs from there, as you may rightly have expected to do, things are handled a little bit differently in New Super Mario Bros 2. Instead of heading to the eShop, buying the new levels is handled in the game itself - and even then, you'll only be able to download them if you've received a special message from Nintendo.
In order to download the level packs, you'll need to load up the game, and choose 'Coin Rush' from the main menu. If you see an icon at the bottom of the screen that says "Shop", then you're ready to buy - simply click the button, and you'll be taken to a screen where you can choose the packs you want to download. But if you haven't got the icon, you'll need to do one of two things.
So there you have it! Once you've navigated the not-quite-as-user-friendly-as-it-could-be set up for downloading Mario's new levels, it's a matter of waiting a few seconds for the pack to download, and setting off on your quest to earn as many coins as possible. Or, if you've downloaded the Nerve-Wrack Pack, simply trying to survive until the end of the level. With new packs set to launch for the rest of 2012, there's plenty more Mario yet to come, too!

Coursebot is where Makers save courses they make, as well as courses downloaded from the Course World. Makers can only save up to 120 levels, download up to 60, and upload up to 100. When the game released, only 32 courses could be uploaded. It was increased to 64 on July 24th, 2019. Nintendo had plans to increase that limit of 64 and therefore, on ?, increased it to 100.
The addition of the 2001 classic brings the number of N64 titles available via the Wii Shop to six, joining Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Lylat Wars and F-Zero X. Each costs 1000 points to download, which equates to about GBP 7 - or just over 10 Euros.
He even said, back in October 2001, that people should "buy it and forget about the GameCube". Now that it's about one eighth of its original 60 price tag (dear god), we reckon this one might prove a popular download, especially with the long-awaited Super Paper Mario arriving on Wii here in Europe in two months time.
